Alerting Customers About Section 179 Tax Advantage End of Year Deadline

Leading MTSP Reminds Business Owners to Reinvest Before December 31st ITG is alerting local businesses about Internal Revenue Code (IRC) 179 and the deductions it provides for any organization looking to reinvest before the end of the calendar year in 2021. Business owners can take advantage of the Section 179 deduction, which allows them to deduct up to $1,050,000 on qualifying business equipment, such as technology and computer software, if they purchase or finance this new equipment and put it into service before December 31, 2021. The deduction remains effective until a company reaches $2.62 million in purchases for the year. The federal government designed this program to stimulate the economy by enabling business owners to accelerate their depreciation rate. Instead of being required to depreciate their capital expenditures over five years, they can depreciate their entire investment all at once, potentially leading to significant tax savings. “While we specialize in equipping our customers with technology infrastructure that is highly customizable and scalable, we believe it’s important to inform them about Section 179. When we learned that some of our customers were either unaware of or not utilizing this program, we felt compelled to educate them on its benefits. The only reason for any company to invest in new technology is if it increases profitability and provides a competitive advantage. Section 179 presents a tremendous opportunity to achieve both while leveraging deductions provided by the IRS,” stated Mark Lasinis, CIO/VP of Technology at Imagine Technology Group. So Your Company Wants to Adopt VoIP… How Do You Know If Your Network Is Ready to Make the Transition?

Mark Lasinis of Imagine Technology Group Discusses the Importance of Conducting a Network Assessment The growing popularity of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) among small to mid-sized companies offers significant cost savings and new applications, but it also places substantial demands on network performance. VoIP requires high-quality, low-latency connections, making it sensitive to network issues that might go unnoticed by typical data applications. Even minor impairments can lead to frustrating experiences for users, impacting customers, partners, and employees alike. Network Readiness and the Risks of Inadequate Assessment Before investing in VoIP, it’s crucial to assess whether your network can handle the increased traffic. Gartner reports that 85% of networks are unprepared for VoIP, and a staggering 75% of companies without pre-implementation network assessments fail to achieve successful VoIP implementations. Without proper evaluation, businesses risk wasting time and resources. To maximize the chances of a successful VoIP rollout, ITG recommends the following four key steps in conducting a comprehensive network assessment: Pre-Deployment Assessment: This initial analysis examines the current capabilities of the network, identifying potential issues and determining requirements for supporting VoIP traffic. It should assess bandwidth, utilization, jitter, throughput, and latency before any VoIP equipment purchase. Post-Deployment Assessment: Conducted before activating VoIP services, this assessment ensures that the network operates efficiently and meets call quality standards. It allows for timely adjustments to address any issues that arise after new equipment is integrated. Regular Maintenance Assessment: Networks are dynamic, frequently changing with the addition or removal of devices like IP phones and routers. Ongoing assessments help identify and rectify faults, enhancing system performance and reducing costs. Break/Fix Strategy: Unforeseen network issues can arise, sometimes impacting productivity. Having an assessment tool enables swift diagnosis and resolution of problems, minimizing disruption. By following these steps, companies can avoid the pitfalls of inadequate network preparation for VoIP and fully leverage the advantages of this innovative communication solution. As you consider a VoIP deployment, ask yourself: What is my telecommunications provider doing to ensure my network can effectively support VoIP? About Imagine Technology Group Imagine Technology Group (ITG) is an Arizona-owned company providing a comprehensive range of office technology solutions. ITG specializes in document management, workflow improvements, multi-function devices, VoIP phone systems, digital signage, managed network services, and IT solutions. What Happened to My Data? ITG Explains the Dangers of Insufficient Backup Procedures

The Critical Importance of Data Backup and IT Resilience for SMBs In today’s fast-paced business environment, IT infrastructure has become the backbone of small to mid-sized businesses (SMBs) across the nation. However, the complexity and strain placed on networks have exposed these businesses to greater security threats than ever before. Natural disasters, power outages, employee errors, and failed system upgrades pose significant risks, and neglecting these threats can result in severe network damage, immobilizing a company for hours, days, or even weeks. Understanding and Mitigating Risks To combat these challenges, it is essential for SMBs to understand the risks, proactively address potential problems, and implement proper precautions. One of the most easily mitigated risks is the failure to back up data regularly. According to Symantec’s 2011 SMB Disaster Preparedness Survey, only half of SMBs back up at least 60% of their data, leaving them vulnerable to losing 40% of crucial information in the event of a disaster. Alarmingly, many organizations overlook backing up corporate PCs and take an “all or nothing” approach to data protection. For instance, 31% of surveyed SMBs do not back up emails, 21% neglect application data, and 17% fail to back up customer data. The greatest advantage of having a reliable backup process is that employees can quickly recover lost data without the need to redo work, minimizing downtime and productivity loss. Protecting Remote Workforces and Branch Offices Another critical risk is the lack of protection for branch offices and telecommuters. The “out of sight, out of mind” mentality can lead to vulnerabilities when businesses are subject to compliance or regulatory standards. Organizations must ensure that all company endpoints, including those used by remote employees, are adequately protected. Centralized IT support may inadvertently overlook remote users, such as salespeople, leaving them exposed to potential threats. Consistency in Data Backups Inconsistent data backups are a common oversight among SMBs. The benefits of automated or regularly scheduled backups cannot be overstated. Despite advancements in storage technology, the Enterprise Security Group reports that only about 20% of backup jobs are successful. This highlights the importance of consistency and frequency in evaluating any backup solution. Risks of Outdated Backup Equipment Utilizing outdated backup equipment, such as tape or disk media, poses additional threats. These hardware solutions can be lost, stolen, or improperly stored, often resulting in irretrievable data when recovery is most needed. Embracing Modern Business Continuity Solutions Today’s business continuity and disaster recovery solutions address these risks by virtualizing all data to the cloud. This not only enhances performance but also improves accuracy, efficiency, security, and archiving capabilities within a business’s disaster recovery plan. In essence, technology has advanced to a point where SMBs should not have to contend with the possibility of losing vital data, which could jeopardize their survival. With the assistance of a trusted IT advisor and today’s powerful solutions, SMBs can effectively protect themselves, their employees, and their customers’ data from emerging threats. A typical day for Chad would be supporting the sales team, and managing department leaders in the business. When his staff and customers come to him, he provides solutions that are pleasing to all. His views on the business world are professional, but also include family values. His belief is that you get out what you put into it. He works hard, is always there to help where needed and consistently shows a positive attitude. He frowns on lack of effort, lack of integrity and lack of accountability. Chad is clearly noted for his hands-on dedication with his sales team and consistently goes the extra mile to get things accomplished.

In his experience with the Office Technology/Document Management Field, Chad brings with him years of Customer Service experience along with highly skilled Sales experience. He grew his first company, Infincom, into an 8-million-dollar company within 4 years, and was featured as one of Inc5000 fastest growing companies. As Founding Partner with ITG, he guided them to another INC5000 fastest growing companies a 5-time ENX Magazine Elite Dealer of the year.

Chad currently serves on the Board of the David Johnson’s Mission 31 Foundation, volunteers at Hospice of the Valley and is involved with his children’s Sports and Dance activities.

Chad spends his off time with his family, enjoys Golfing, and someday hopes to play St. Andrews.
